While I was waiting for delivery of my first BJD, a Soah from the first offering of basic dolls, I named her and began to develop her character. Little did I know how much I would become involved in the process, and how often I would be repeating it!

Acquired at first as a fitting model for doll fashions I was making at the time, Kaida soon let me know that it was not going to stay that way long.  She had attitude from the very beginning, even without her face-up. It might have been the wig....

When Jenny (Threnody) was finally able to get started on her face-up and I received the first few preview pictures of her progress, I knew Kaida was going to be very special. I was right, but I didn't know the half of it. This is the final photo Jenny sent, just before Kaida’s final MSC treatment and her trip home. Jenny put a pair of her own near-black glass eyes in Kaida to take the photo, and I loved the look so much I bought them from her.

Just before Kaida went off to have her face done, I saw the promotional pictures for the basic Sooah from Elfdoll and thought: Kaida needs a sister. So Kohana came to live with me…. I loved her face and was charmed by those cute black-framed glasses. I put her on layaway, but then paid her off early because I simply could not wait to see her. Kohana’s post is next…..
