Erik Samuelson

Erik came to live at East Leake Hall in September 2007. He is James’s friend from University days
Erik is 23 years old and originally from Orkney but he has lived in England for 5 years now.
Erik is a quiet and a not especially confident young man who has a nasty scar over his right eye.
He rarely speaks of how he was scarred but rumour has it that it was the result of a climbing accident in the Dolomites. His vision is not impaired, but the accident has made him more nervous about life than he used to be.
Currently he is single, after an unpleasant end to a long-term relationship.
This has left him in a melancholy mood and James has invited him to stay at the Hall indefinitely
He fell in love at University with a beautiful and vivacious girl and gave up all thoughts of the contemplative life in the church to be with her. This subsequent break up has left him questioning all the decisions he has made since leaving his home on the Island.
He is full of self doubt and blames himself for the failing of the relationship.
Edit May 2008: Erik is now a divorced man. He has also found out that the child he has loved and cared for as his own it actually another’s.
He has his faith to fall back on and the loving home he now lives in to help him come to terms with this truly deep and awful hurt.
